Zapier → Make.com migration without dropping a lead

Teams leave Zapier for three reasons: the task-based bill grows with success, multi-step logic becomes a tangle of Zaps calling Zaps, and errors fail quietly. Make.com (or n8n, if you want self-hosting) fixes all three — but only if the migration is done as a controlled cutover, not a weekend rewrite.

How the migration runs

  1. Inventory. Every Zap: trigger, steps, filters, how often it fires, what breaks today. Dead Zaps are retired, not migrated.
  2. Target map. Zaps grouped into Make.com scenarios — one scenario with a router usually replaces 3–5 Zaps.
  3. Rebuild with error handling. Retries, error routes and alerts added where Zapier had none.
  4. Parallel run. Old and new run side by side on live data for a few days; outputs compared.
  5. Cutover and handoff. Zaps switched off one by one, documentation and video delivered, 30 days of support.

What changes for you

Billed per task — every step countsBilled per operation, with far more operations per dollar on comparable plans
Linear Zaps; branching via Paths or extra ZapsRouters, iterators, aggregators in one scenario
Errors often fail silently or pause the ZapError handlers per module: retry, resume, alert, roll back

Exact plan pricing changes over time; I compare your actual task volume against current Make.com and n8n pricing in the inventory step, so the decision is made on real numbers.

Questions

Make.com or n8n — which should we choose?
Make.com for the fastest build, managed hosting and an editor your team can maintain without a developer. n8n when you want self-hosting, a lower per-run cost at volume, or custom code nodes inside the flow. I work with both and recommend one on the discovery call based on your volume, data rules and who will maintain it.
How long does a project actually take?
Most single-flow automations (lead capture, CRM sync, a simple bot) ship in 2–3 days. Multi-step projects with several tools or AI logic take 5–10 days. You get a real timeline after the discovery call, not a guess.
What happens when something breaks or our tools change? Are we stuck waiting on you every time?
30 days of free support after every project. You get full documentation — every scenario explained step by step, with screenshots. The tools have visual editors you can adjust yourself. I am reachable if you need me.
Who owns the automation afterwards?
You do. Scenarios, workflows, code, prompts and the credentials created for the project are handed over with a walkthrough video and documentation. There is no lock-in and no hosting dependency on me.
